This appropriate action can motivate expansion of bilateral relations between the two news agencies, Aliyev said in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Naderi cited by the IRNA on Thursday.
I hope that bilateral relations will return to the previous level and news agencies will be able to expand mutual relations, he added.
Expressing sadness over the earlier attack on Azerbaijan embassy in Iran, he said: "Unfortunately, we witnessed tensions in bilateral relations, the peak of which was the armed attack on our embassy, and I hope that the perpetrator of the attack will be severely punished as soon as possible."
IRNA, with a history of approximately 90 years, currently publishes its news and productions in Persian and nine other languages, including English, Arabic, Urdu, French, German, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and Turkish.
